We Deliver: Production-Ready FilesFast Turnaround

Short answer: custom embroidery digitizing usually costs between about $8 and $15 for most everyday jobs. At Nex Punch, a left chest or cap logo is $8 to $10, a patch is $10, and a large jacket back or center chest design is $12 to $15, with free revisions and most files delivered within 24 hours.

Below we explain what changes the price, how to compare quotes, and how to avoid paying twice for a file that does not stitch well.

What Affects the Price of Digitizing?

1. Size of the design

Bigger designs carry more stitches and need more planning, so a 12 inch jacket back costs more than a 3 inch chest logo. Most digitizers price by size or by placement for this reason.

2. Detail and small text

Thin lines, gradients, tiny lettering and many colors take longer to digitize well. Very small text often has to be redrawn so it stays readable once stitched.

3. Placement and fabric

A cap front, a stretchy knit polo and a heavy fleece hoodie each need different underlay, density and stitch order. A file built for the right garment avoids puckering and thread breaks.

4. Turnaround

Many digitizers deliver within a day. If you need a file faster than usual, ask before you order, because rush jobs are sometimes priced higher.

Why the Cheapest File Can Cost More

Auto-digitizing software can turn an image into a stitch file in seconds, but the result often has too many jumps, poor density and letters that collapse. You then pay in wasted garments, thread breaks and machine time. A properly digitized file runs cleanly the first time, which is why the price of the file is usually a small part of the cost of an embroidery job.

How to Get an Accurate Quote

Frequently Asked Questions

Are revisions included in the price?

At Nex Punch, yes. If your test stitch-out shows something you want changed, we edit the file for free.

Do I pay again for a different file format?

No. We deliver the formats you need, such as DST, PES, JEF, EXP, VP3 and XXX, for the same price.

Can I reuse my file for different sizes?

Small changes are usually fine, but resizing a file by more than about 10 to 20 percent can change how it stitches. For a very different size, it is better to have the design digitized at that size.
